Well we had another transfer journey from Florence to Venice. It always seems like such an adventure just to get everything moved from one place to the next. It doesn’t really make matters any better that we have to travel in a large group and it’s hard sometimes to get everybody on a train or a water taxi or whatever. So we boarded the train and I was really excited about getting to Venice, I knew that I would end up just loving the city. It was an interesting train ride I rode with Erika and Scott and we just sketched on the way up I mostly just listened to music and did a little bit of blogging. I’m really getting use to the train and metro situation here. I really like it and it makes so much sense to me, easy, and cheap. So one way or another we made it to Venice and it was pretty much just how I thought it would be. As a group we took a water taxi to our hotel and settled in. I went out with Erika to see what Venice had to offer us. It was fun the streets were cluttered with masks and capes for the carnival of Venice. We had some drinks and unveiled the swanky bottle we purchased prior in Florence and hit the city. Erika and I found a nice bar and sat down and had a few interesting words about our lives and where we want to be in the future and where we see our lives heading. It was a great conversation. I’m so glad that she is here with me and we can bounce thoughts and ideas off of each other and walk the streets as beasties. We ended up leaving the bar and went for some pizza and set off to get lost in the narrow streets of Venice as we had been instructed to do by all of the research we did prior to arriving in the city. We saw some high end shopping areas and took some pictures and just enjoyed the night. The face paced times in Florence and Rome had seemed to be something of the past. We took some pictures of Gondolas and architecture and pretty much every picture you take in Venice turns out looking like a postcard. Unless, the picture is of street poop which is everywhere here I’m assuming its animal but then again you never know. A good idea is to watch where you are walking. Other than that we just strolled around until our feet were tired and then we called it a night and went home to stay in our sexy hotel that had upholstered walls, wooden beams to window views one was of the courtyard and the other was of right out to a canal. Picture perfect!
