July 12, 2009

Woke up around ten and had to check our luggage at the train station and check out of the hotel. After that Zago, Erika, and I walked around the streets of Venice. Z took us to probably the most Americanized restaurant in Venice. It was fun we ate pizza and salads and other great fried hangover food. Other than that we went to St. Mark’s and did some sketching Zago even sketched we laughed a lot. Took some amazing pictures and went by the University of Architecture where Peppino goes to school. We got hold of pepi and went back over to his house and watched some movie in Italian and I realized that I really didn’t understand any of it. I thought with my Spanish background that I would be able to recognize some words but they talk so fast it made it really difficult. We had to cut our visit with pepi short because we had to catch the train to Paris at seven. Zago walked us back to the station and bought him a ticket back to wherever the hell it is that he lives and we said our goodbyes and went to board the train. Everyone in our group was able to board the train and when Scott, Erika, and I went to our car there was a dick on a mission and was so relentless to let us board the train. We had to go back toward the station and try and find Darrin and couldn’t see him anywhere. So on our way back we saw Zago again and he came over to speak to this dumb ass and try to get him to let us on the train, but the guy wouldn’t. I witnessed my first Italian curse war. I’m pretty sure Zago won it was pretty funny. Anyway Darrin finally came out of his car to do one last check for people and we saw him so he had our tickets and long story short we made it on the train. Zago said that when we get to London since we have so much free time he is going to try and fly up to Amsterdam and meet up with Erika and me on one of our 3 day free days. I really hope that happens. Anyway after boarding the train it was an overnighter so we had to sleep in this tiny car on triple bunks and it was so claustrophobic. Erika and I made some cocktails and went and ate in the restaurant on the train and then when we got back we took a sleeping pill and that’s all I remember I woke up in Paris France. What a great exit to Italy I really had the time of my life. Ah life is good.
